248596 2004-06-30 07:44:00 hi, im using an oldish 56k usb dynalink modem, when im using this modem i cant log onto mail accounts and log onto various other things, i was using this modem when i had win98se and it worked fine, now that i have win2000 this problem has occured, i also have a 56k dse modem, when i use that i can have full capabilities like logging into hotmail etc.

under modem properties all compression and bells and whistles are disabled because when they were enabled the dynalink connected but didnt work at all. im looking for some help as to why this modem doesnt fully work.

the reason i want this modem to work is because the dse modem is HAM and it sucks cpu power and it also doesnt download as fast as the old dynalink, any help would me much appreciated, bah im using the dynalink right now and it wont let me send this message lol. ill jump on the dse modem.

248597 2004-06-30 09:22:00 usb modems are basicly winmodems so it shouldn't be a lot of difference between them. is the usb modem a v90 modem or a 56 flex modem?

what drivers are you useing for the usb modem ?

248598 2004-07-01 07:36:00 in device manager it says under location: V.90/K56flex MODEM COMM DEVICE CLASS

the drivers i am using are dynalink win2k driver that consist of:
Mdmcxusb.inf
RKACF2.CPL
RKACF2.INI

and possible some of the old drivers that were installed previously

in device manager under driver details it says:
C:\windows\system32\DRIVER\usbser.sys
C:\windows\system32\rkafc2.cpl
C:\windows\system32\rkafc2.ini
