2004-06-29 09:17:00 | i am running WInXP Pro, with other computers when you plug a usb joystick in, especially a microsoft one, it should automatically detect and install with no problems, but with my computer i plug the joystick in and nothing comes up, so i go to game controllers and tried adding it but it keeps on saying not connected, i know the problems is probably because the usb plug of the stick is not compatible with my usb port, or is this the problem? how do i fix it and get the joystick working? thanks | Big_Mountain (4623) | |
2004-06-29 09:18:00 | I have 2 usb ports, tried both, no luck. | Big_Mountain (4623) | |
2004-06-29 10:15:00 | Im gonna go out on a limb here and say your barking up the wrong tree,The joystick is compatible with usb full stop. I sugest taking the joystick into a computer shop and asking if u can plug it in to see if it works.

2004-06-29 10:46:00 | Do any OTHER devices work on the 2 USB ports you have? I note that I have 6 usb ports on my motherboard and 3 more USB ports via a PCI card. I can plug my Sidewinder Pro in all of them and it works. I did not have to install drivers for the Joystick in particular under WinXP for it to work. My computer runs WinXP pro on a Soltek SL-75FRN2-RL Motherboard. From time to time I plug my Joystick into other computers to make sure usb support is enabled either via Motherboard drivers or WinXP and service pack 1. It's easier to use my joystick to test rather than using the USB Printer or Scanner.

2004-06-29 11:01:00 | hmm,I presume you missed them so ill just let you know that from his other thread(s) that he has 2 usb ports, both show up in device manager and he is running a ms mouse in one of them. It would help if he kept it in one thread. He purchased the Joystick via trademe and someone(im presuming the seller) has told him some rubbish about incompatible usb ports.
