| 248657 | 2005-01-04 17:41:00 | Hi all, Just stumbled on this thread through Google. I have just installed a Smartlink modem (56kPCI-SL) on an old system for my Dad to use. Installed the latest driver (4.00.06 i think) and the modem connects ok but only at a speed of 19200. I'm no pc whizzkid, in fact just installing the modem itself was a major achievement for me! so if any of you kind souls could give me step by step instructions on how to alter the settings to increase the speed I would be extremely grateful. Thanks Jeff |

| 248660 | 2005-01-10 02:09:00 | Spent the whole weekend trying to speed this damn thing up, only managed to get it to 24000 though. Got the driver from the smartlink website, the latest version. Tried using the extra setting mentioned earlier in the thread, and ran it through all the different safe modes, no improvement. I'm running 98se and this is the only modem on the system. Any more ideas? Thanks p.s going to ring the Telco tomorrow, see if there's a problem with the line |
