249532 2004-07-03 14:00:00 I think that the short version of it as a sticky and a link to the full version is the way to go. robsonde (120)
249533 2004-07-03 17:53:00 With a little refining, I would like to see this sticky'ed or FAQ'd.

Can we take a vote of who is for and who is against it?

No gaurantees either way ATM.

249534 2004-07-03 20:54:00 Probably needs a bit of pruning and FAQ divided into two:-

1. How to phrase the question and subject line and
2. How to find out what's in the system unit.

I'm for it.

At the moment quite a few questions have to be asked just to find out what the real problem is.

Maybe it can be incorporated into the PF1 new user registration signup process? after all people have to register before they can post.

Unusual comments from a noobie, which leads me to think that these comments are made by a former disgruntled member.
Obviously starting off, where he left off.

249537 2004-07-03 22:57:00 i must be honest i started to read it, but its too long for this person to concentrate on at mo, so i skipped most of it but the headlines. :D

but a good idea.

refine it a little and have it as a sticky yes.

249538 2004-07-03 23:15:00 I like it a lot. Perhaps it could be linked to next to the formatting options etc, to open up in its own window Greg S (201)
249539 2004-07-03 23:21:00 Good idea Murray

I agree with beetle needs to be compressed and yes sticky it.

249540 2004-07-03 23:46:00 Refine a little and present in two parts: Brief outline as a sticky, linked to full version in the FAQs.

Best of both worlds.

Just because more experienced users (me included) have short attention spans, that doesn't mean that newer users don't want the reassurance of a comprehensive explanation. Most experts have a habit of assuming too much, typified by abbreviated installation instructions for software or hardware that assume the installer is up to speed with all the technicalities.
