| 249629 | 2004-07-03 12:05:00 | No, we don't have a 98 boot cd only the oem version that come with the computer, which is a recovery cd. I will come back online tomorrow morning and read your post again, Dave's Dad and Murray, as I have read the info that Murray linked to, and at the moment it doesn't make sense. I have my old 98 windows cd, and her recovery cd, and my old boot floppy for 98. I am not sure if I download from bootdisk.com, and put it on floppy, that it will read, as I am running XP, and if I remember rightly, if I write things to floppy on my puter, hers doesn't always read it. But as I said, I will come back in the morning, when I am not tired, and read again, and if I still can't make sense of it, I will ask again. Thanks heaps for trying to talk us through this. | supergran (108) | ||

After a long time of rubbing they got back all the data. Now I don't recommend this practice so don't jump on the idea but in there case it did work - As a last resort | Berryb (654) | ||
| 249633 | 2004-07-04 02:07:00 | Ok, today I put the recover cd in the puter and it worked. Reformatted, then on next boot up, comes up with Msoobe.exe page fault at mshtml.dll. Well for what I can find on the net that is a windows validation thing, and then it shuts back down. So thanks for all your help, but I am sending it into the shop, saves me using a hammer, or throwing it out the window. LOL | supergran (108) | ||
