Whenever it appears that my choice of words might have been interpreted less charitably than I intended, I have posted an apology, most recently to beetle . I don't do put-downs either, but I will do debate, so here is a challenge: Below are two extra Words FTWE . extracted from the Oxford Dictionary WFTWE #109a Belittle: 1- depreciate 2- make small, dwarf 3- disparage, decry, cry down, trivialise, deprecate, denigrate, discredit, put down, run down WFTWE #109b Sarcasm: A bitter or wounding remark, a taunt - especially ironically worded Sarcastic: scornful, derisive, ridiculing, sardonic, scathing, caustic, cutting, trenchant, ascerbic, acidic, venomous, poisonous Find any post by me, directed at another PF1 member, in which I have met any of the criteria above for sarcasm or belittling, post the link and I will aplogise to them . Don't bother linking to posts by any of the unpleasant characters who have been banned from PF1 either, they deserve no apologies from anybody . Abuse and obscenity via acronym is no substitute for a reasoned argument . Ask yourself this: Would I really like the people who hold my future career in their hands to read some of the threads I have posted on PF1? What might they read into my choice of words and constantly expressed anger? I could be wrong of course, I admit that, but it doesn't matter to me either way . It is your life and your career, so waste it anyway you like, just don't expect me to lie down and suffer your antics and personal sniping without responding once in a while . Why do you see the need to prolong and incite further comments unless you actually enjoy doing so. Why not just make your point and leave it at that. |

It's curious to see however that the above post is exactly what was described by KingWave, the kind of stealthily veiled belittlement that you seem to love . Also interesting that you elected to pick a topic that you know is extremely personal in the hope that you'd set off fireworks . After your last attempt at guiding my professional life, a mature person would realise that I want no assistance from you . The joy you seem to take in pointing out the purported flaws that are supposedly going to cripple my professional advancement must be extremely satsifying for you . Of course some of the people round here that can see through you (such as Jim, KingWave and a few others) can see that all you were trying to do was instigate an argument by picking on what you already know to be a sensitive topic . If you think that a few posts on an obscure tiny little anonymous message board on the intarweb would affect my career I pity you . Perhaps reading this thread would help, I pointed out that your comment could easily be considered racist . Why don't you chuck on your I love NY shirt, or your VOTE BUSH hat and pop down to your local Iraqi refugee centre and call them a bunch of longanimites bent on revenge and see what kind of reaction you get, I'll keep an eye on the news .
