| 249470 | 2004-07-03 07:14:00 | I am not sure which issue of Pc world NZ that showed how to switch between power user and admin user for windows 2000 without log off . I am intending to upgrade to windows 2000 and it only on one computer. I don't want to log off and on, but for security it was recomended to set up a power user account which does much as admin account and log in admin account when necessary . Not sure which issue it was in Pc world probably May 2004 or about there some time . Thanks |

| 249471 | 2004-07-03 07:49:00 | Hi Lightfoot, i think the article you may be referring to was in April issue under "76 ways to get more out of windows", page 83; Tip no. 20: Become a partime admin: Basically it tells you how to run a program from your power user account but as an admin by: Hold down "shift" and right click the programs .exe in explorer, or any shortcut to the .exe - then just choose "Run as" select either "Run the program as the following user (win 2000)" or "The following user (win xp)" - and enter name and password of an admin account - Click - o.k. Hope thats what you were after :-) |
