2004-07-02 09:10:00 | IS anyone out there using 'Wired Country'? I am at present using walkerwireless as it's the cheapest vs features for a business but it is not huge on reliability. I was thinking of Wired Country which costs more which I don't mind but does it work and is it fast (I was looking at the 1mg speed option with 10Gb download). TIA | kiwibits (5574) | |
2004-07-02 10:29:00 | I'm using it and it's fast and reliable :) I'm on the 2Mbit plan and last night I had 1 PC downloading and 2 other PC using video conference all at the same time and there was no frame lost at all :D Speed wise you should be able to download a 10MB file under 2 minute with the 1Mbit plan. I recently switched to the 2Mbit plan since it only cost $10 more ...

2004-07-02 23:07:00 | Have been using "Wired Country" for about 5 months now and am very happy with the service (on 1MB speed). When I first joined I had a lot of disconnects and unable to connect at times, but they installed new software a couple of months ago, and I have had no problems since. I hope I never have to go back to dialup after using there service. Dave

2004-07-03 01:46:00 | When you say 1 & 2 MB speed, do you mean 1 Mbps OR 1MBps? | stu120404 (268) | |
2004-07-03 03:19:00 | > When you say 1 & 2 MB speed, do you mean 1 Mbps OR > 1MBps? It is 1Mbps. If Xtra's Jetstream Surf Flat Rate is 256Kbps ~ 32KBytes/sec then this is 1024Kbps ~ 128KBytes/sec and 2Mbps is 2048Kbps ~ 256KBytes/sec. Of course in the real world you won't get the max speed as there are lots of factors affecting the traffic :)

2004-07-03 05:30:00 | I am using WIRED COUNTRY wireless link in Pukekohe with minimum speed of 256Kbts. When it works it is good and knocks spots off dial-up but I am finding it to be erratic and unreliable, particularly in stormy weather. During the last two days it has been on and off many times and I am getting a bit fed up with it. Download speed ranges from about three times to ten times dial-up speed. | IanS (924) | |
