| 249719 | 2004-07-04 09:12:00 | I amy be dreaming myself, but I am of the opinion that Dreamweaver is a Web authoring program, not a drawing or graphics editor. I may be wrong.............:) |

I usually just type in what i want to do into google ie draw horizontal and vertical lines in dreamweaver 4 or just "dreamweaver4 tutorials " and usually get what i want keep at the easiest way to learn it is nutting it out your own self. Heres a couple to look at here (www.internet4classrooms.com) here (www.albany.edu) hth |

| 249721 | 2004-07-04 10:39:00 | thanks for those. i will try them. I have added the pix . the problem is its on the left side .. I tried moving it to no avail ... I right clicked and assigned align but that is too harsh and rigid, i tried pressing the space bar .. but does not move it one bit.. i have saved those two pages and will look into the help function. i fired up frontpage XP just before and it was so much more straightforward ... hey why not just use that or MS Word to do it .. i also have a dreamweaver book here with me, from the library .. but it does not go via drawing at all ... i will try the tips out. thanks again. |

| 249722 | 2004-07-04 12:27:00 | moving is done via drawing a layer box then dragging the pix into that, then drag the box to place anywhere ... but the box is not visible with the browser. i kinda wanted the box outline. dan... what a complicated way. why not just drag and drop AND layers. now i gotta find a way how to draw some straight lines .. if i imported a jpg or gif file dreamweaver window is gonna be pretty ugly looking with all those layers. anyone come across a picture in the web - the classic picture of a yellow road block sign with flashing lights saying "under development"? had a small hunt but to no avail .. |

| 249723 | 2004-07-04 12:30:00 | correct me if i am wrong but it is possible to do all the work with dreamweaver then upload to Geocities right? | nomad (3693) | ||
| 249724 | 2004-07-04 13:18:00 | >i fired up frontpage XP just before and it was so much more straightforward ... hey why not just use that or MS Word to do it .. Because MS products write crappy html code that often doesn't work properly in other browsers. It takes a little learning but once you are used to it you will find DW worth it. To create Hotspots within an image in the Selections properties box use the Hotspot tools. |

You can use a table to layout your pictures or absolute position them or use hspace="50" and vspace="50" to give 50 pixles around it. > Also, how do I draw horizonal and vertical straight lines? Horizontal lines use <hr > tag. Vertical not sure on, you might have to insert an image for that one, or if you are using tables you can set the border of the whole table or each cell to a number greater than zero to give it an outline. > Is it possible make a link by drawing a grey defined area? Not sure it you want to use the image map or just click on the object or text and type the link in the link box. If you want clearer instructions on any of this just be a little clearer with what you want exactly, and ask, happy to help. Rob |

Yes (sal.neoburn.net) but don't use cr@p like that it will make your site look cheap and people will not return. Rob |

| 249727 | 2004-07-05 12:28:00 | I have a new problem I created frames. which is fine for the first link. then when i press the 2nd link I get a mirror effect with another the SAME frame inside that. the hoempage is like a paper album .. 6 icons. icon one when selected goes into a frame - tine. however when i press icon 2 from fht homepage I got no frames .. so I created frames for each of the 6 icons. but the problem is when I choose icon 1. then i press icon two I get a mirror effect. i press the 3rd icon then i get another mirror effect. I have 2 frames - the top banner the left navigation panel. this panel is the same on everypage evcept the homepage which its designed like a album cover with 6 large picture hyperlinks. |
