250301 2004-07-06 23:46:00 Hi:

From yesterday I am experiencing a lot of internet problems.

Firstly when I go to hotmail and try to delete messages, I tick the box beside the message and everytime I tick the box a warning comes up and says a run-time error occurs and do I want to debug, then another Norton Antivirus warning comes up and says a trojan virus has been detected. So now I can't delete any messages.

Other problems also occuring, with every web page I go to random links on random words appear and when I click on any of those random links they lead to the same website.

I also can't use google properly or trademe.

Are these problems due to the virus?

THanks

Yeah could be. If your Nortons anti-virus hasn't picked up a problem it might be a good idea to do an online scan of your saystem. Try:
http://housecall.antivirus.com/
or
www.symantec.com

Thought I may have had to use Spybot (http://www.majorgeeks.com/download2471.html" target="_blank">www.ccleaner.com/). Had something like that on a clients PC and surprisingly the Ccleaner got rid of it. Thought I may have had to use Spybot (http:) or Adaware (www.majorgeeks.com). Which you could try if Ccleaner doesn't rid you of it. Keep in mind too that there is another baddie doing the rounds, so update that Anti-virus too. Pheonix (280)
250304 2004-07-07 03:32:00 There are lots of nasties getting onto people's computers these days that are becoming rather tricky to detect and remove.

Try the recommendations in the above two posts and also check out the forum's Spyware FAQ (link to FAQs top right of this page) for more info and tools if necessary.

The most important thing to remember is to update all tools prior to using them.
