250242 2004-07-06 07:10:00 The main pc is connected thru pci adsl modem and a wireless router. The problem is that winxp doesn't allow ICS now with the router present.
Is there any workaround this problem without having to buy an external adsl modem?

250243 2004-07-06 07:26:00 At one stage during the (so called) Wizard you are asked to accept its ( the Wizards) setting.
Click no and you will be given the option of picking your own settings. Probably the default is to an incorrect connection - particularly likely if you have firewire present.

250244 2004-07-06 08:30:00 Do you mean during "Setup a home or small office network" wizard?
The ICS was working before when I used wired ethernet connection. And I don't see how firewire is relevant to this problem.

250245 2004-07-06 09:08:00 Yes.
Firewire is relevant as WinXP seems to think all firewire connections are network connections

250246 2004-07-06 10:04:00 Thanks for the reply.

I don't think I have explained the problem clearly, I cannot turn the ICS on because windows warned me that in order for ICS to work, IP 192.168.0.1 has be be available, in this case its already been 'taken' by the router's.

In the router's manual, it's WAN port needs to be connected to the Cable/ADSL modem which then shared to all user connected to that router. Obviously I can't connect this to an internal PCI modem.
Windows also refuses to bridge adsl connection and wlan.
And I also don't have firewire on my system.

My router is D-Link DI-614+
