250218 2004-07-06 06:25:00 Have you checked out the boot order in the BIOS? Make sure the floppy is listed before the hard drive. Jen C (20)

250220 2004-07-06 07:19:00 Set BIOS to boot from CD ROM.

Most modern Windows versions come on a bootable disk

In the BIOS is the floppy disk set to 3.5 1.44 Meg?

What version of Windows are you trying to install?

What media is Windows on that you want to install?

Try to get a floppy disk ( bootable ) like a Win98SE boot disk from a friend. One of these boot disks will allow you to access the CDRom drive.

Don't ( just yet ) open the case and change jumpers. We may get to that later.

It looks to me that there may be a hardware issue with the floppy drive you have installed but there also may be a problem with the BIOS or media.

You can open the case and ensure the cable hasn't dropped out which connects the Motherboard to the floppy drive.

250224 2004-07-06 10:15:00 You can download a file that when double-clicked will make a bootdisk for you , just have a floppy in the drive. From Bootdisk.com (www.bootdisk.com) Pheonix (280)
250225 2004-07-06 10:43:00 The floppy drive is set to 3.5 1.44mb
Im trying to install Windows 2000 Advanced Server (On cd)
I have tried WIN95B through to WINME startup disks and they all do the same. It all started about a week ago when i went to backup my harddrive (At the time NT4 was installed). I then took a 4gb disk drive out of my main server that i wasn't using and now nothing works in my digital. I can only find jumpers that change CPU speeds and CPU FSB.

The new drive is a 4gb Seagate drive
The old drive was a 2gb IBM drive
Both are SCSI

Thanks

250226 2004-07-06 20:13:00 you maybe looking at a faulty floppy drive try swapping it out.
If the pc is old as you seem to say, this maybe good possiblty.
