That maybe for a small percentage of PC users Metla, but I would have to say that 99.999999999% of buyers of those two brands worldwide (as well as other brands such as HP, Acer, PackardBell, Dell) are thrilled by the ongoing performance of their shop brought computers and don't have the desire to add more performance to them. They are more than happy with the way the perform "straight out of the box". But what would I know Metla. I don't seem to have the "all seeing eye knowledge" that you posess. I am a lowly PackardBell user, who just enjoys his computer by turning it on than getting hours and hours of use "normally" without hitch. ie: Gaming, internet surfing, internet messaging, emailing, listening to music, watching movies, downloading mp3s, graphics manipulation, enjoyment, enjoyment, enjoyment. All without missing a beat. Well usually anyway. Pray Metla, tell me what I am missing out on? |

About 30 percent of the performance you should have, and the other issues will bite you if it breaks once out of warrenty.. I have a constant stream of brand name comps bought in,they are always far more expensive to fix,and have multiple "loaded from new" programs running that can only be classed as spyware. All nice and well until the psu blows, then you end up buying a new powersupply, new motherboard and OS because your "recovery" cd will no longer work with the new gear. Bah,Im repeating myself,The reasons for and against are well documented,No matter how much you enjoy your brand name comp its still a poor choice. Can anyone give a reason why a brand name comp is a good purchase?....maybe because the fridge salesman you bought it off had nice teeth?....maybe he helped you make an informed descision based on its gigahurtz of harddrive ram and advanced multimedia capabilities..,or because its garenteed to be made from "high quality" components?....or maybe its the excellent phone suport from that charming person in Malaysia on his 3rd week of his "speak english the easy way". What are you missing out on?....First hand knowledge of the issues i speak about. Call it brand snobbery if you like,I would say its calling a spade a spade,The evidence is right there in the box. |
