| 250062 | 2004-07-05 22:26:00 | I have an HP Pavilion standards computer and I wanted to add more ram. Currently it has 256mb...maximum memory 512mb. Memory slots 2 (2 banks of 1) It takes sdram pc133 168 DIMMs. What I would like to know is can I use any brand or does it have to be compatible? And do I have to replace both slots eg. 2 of 256mb. I'm not very clued up on this...I don't intend putting it in myself but I plan on buying some overseas while on holiday because it's really cheap but I don't know what to look for. Thanks for your help....and if there is anything else I should know or look for please let me know. |

I have also had to return RAM that was incompatable for one HP. www.dse.co.nz I would be wary about buying it from overseas, even with the possible savings. At DSE you can easily take it back if it is not compatable. Thats hard to do when you buy it overseas. |
