| 250762 | 2004-07-08 15:33:00 | From what has been said in the past you seem sick and tired of people asking about Video Cards so here is another one. Intend to buy Radeon 9600 XT 128MB Video Card, but what is the best brand to purchase. Been looking at different reviews and I can not make up my mind; its easier shop for new dress than a new Video card. At least you can try on a new dress before deciding to purchase it. Three choices seem to be Gigabyte or Powercolor and maybe Gecube. |

I know the Gigabyte is good as we've got one, but it has died once within 2 months resulting in a replacement. Buy from somewhere with fast warranty service and you would be sweet. Anyone know much about the PowerColor Radeon 9600 XT Overdrive (www.ascent.co.nz)?? Looks like its got the same core and memory as the Bravo edition but at a lower price... |

| 250765 | 2004-07-08 23:31:00 | Gexcube make a Extreme edition of the Radeon 9600XT with faster ram, this makes it the fastest 9600XT on the market. If you can afford it, this would be the card to go for. Gexcube and Powercolour seem to be the cheaper of ATI card manufactuers, with Gigabyte being more expensive. Gigabyte make their own card e.g Own PCB design, own HSF design. Where as alot of other manufactuers just rebadge BBA cards, made by Sapphire. You wont have a problems buying Powercolour, Gexcube or Gigabyte card they are all fine choices. From what ive seen of the New Zealand market of ATI cards the only manufactuers id stay away from are Soltek and ECS. P.S i dont have a problem with video card threads it just that when you get 2-3 people each asking what is better a 9600 or 5700 its gets really annoying. They could have easily solved the problem with a quick forum search. |

Why tempt fate, when a card from a manufactuer held in higher regard isnt that much more expensive? |
