| 250775 | 2004-07-08 21:58:00 | I've ordered an Audigy LS, because I'm sick of my SB Live! popping and spitting out static on about 50% of my games (even with the latest drivers). However, what sort of load does it put on the CPU for advanced fx, as it doesn't have hardware processing for EAX. Would I notice any difference on say Far Cry with the Audigy LS compared to the SB Live! (both running 5.1 sound) performance wise. I have a Pentium 4 2.4B. | SpiderVenom (1412) | ||

If your SB Live! doesn't crackle you are very lucky. That model is a lemon and if you have a VIA chipset then you are totally shagged. The Audigy ZS is a very nice card and doesn't place much of a load on the CPU. Good for gaming: www.guru3d.com |
