250633 2004-07-08 05:21:00 If price is the main factor, then a CD player which reads MP3 discs might be the way to go. That way you can get good storage space, and the hardware will only cost you $200 - $250. Alasta (1420)
250634 2004-07-08 05:27:00 iv always wondered, what is so special about being able to read mp3s, that it requires an extra $200 added onto the price tag, its not like its that hard to do. Mirddes (10)
250635 2004-07-08 05:46:00 The MSI Megastick is good, its about $230 or something from www.xpcomputers.co.nz and has 256mb. A friend has one and i got addicted to it!

The mp3 cdplayers are too big anyways, you get an mp3 player because they're so much smaller!

250636 2004-07-08 05:50:00 Pah! $250? The warehouse sells nice cheap MP3 CD players - I bought a panasonic one in january on special for $100 and now they're advertising Transonic mp3 CD players for $100 - that is car kit, charger, headphones, everything included... Mind you I'd invest in some decent headphones if you want to get the best out of it.

The panasonic model I bought was good but it came with no charger, or car kit, came with bad-sounding headphones and it doesn't go very loud. But as far as that goes it's still good. And I'm a bit of an audiophile so you could be happy with the headphones provided.

250637 2004-07-09 01:30:00 Have a look at the new Warehouse catelog - they're either on the front cover or the second page (hard to tell because the dog ripped it up :-) ) bRaZZiN (2228)
