250865 2004-07-09 04:25:00 Hey guys,
I've heard many rumours about playing a playstation 2 on a plasma screen is bad for the tv. I would like to know if this is true because it would be great to play on a 42" tv :O

250866 2004-07-09 04:38:00 I believe it is the static images that can cause problems, i.e.-fuel gauges, icons and what not.

Many people have used em for games though and report no problems, with some sets even having a game mode, and that’s on sets where the salesman has foretold imminent doom if you plug in a console.

I’m sure the likes of Godfather will have some more solid info, but it probably comes down to do you own the TV? Therefore do you have the right to take the risk?

No i don't own it... my dad does :P

I think it should be alright aslong as it doesnt stay paused for a long time...
Afterall there is no difference is colours between watching Finding Nemo and a playstation game...

Thanks, hsv-b0y

250868 2004-07-09 08:04:00 Should be OK with sensible use.
All the info you need is on Google, no need to repost it all here, but perhaps this is a typical caution:

I'll just stick to the normal tv i think. They are too expensive to take the chance.

Thanks, hsv-b0y
