HELP -- all my nice looking icons that I had on my desktop have gone back to the plain blue ( e )shortcut icons, eg : I had nice small square ones - one of them was ANZ bank which had their original logo, that is now only showing as a plain e now.I have tried right clicking each icon & then going to properties, it then says change icon -but there are only 4 boring internet explorer ones -- has any one got any ideas ?? |

You must of been using the websites favicons (icons which have been customised for that website instead of getting the default 'e' icon). If you have just cleared out your Temp Internet folder, you would of lost the favicons from that site. If you go back to their sites again, and then have a look in your Temp Internet folder you should see the favicon reappear as it would of been loaded from that site again - it should have an .ico extension. Copy that favicon out of that folder to somewhere safe eg My Documents\Favicons and then right-click on your desktop shortcut, properties, change icon, and then browse to where you have saved the favicon and select it. |
