251610 2004-07-12 02:09:00 i have Winfast PVR and when i close the program using the red button on the remote my whole computer freezes.

When i installed the drivers windows said it did not have the Designed for Microsoft Windows XP logo.what would that mean.

i have Windows XP ,3.2ghz,512 ram and the tv tuner is a Winfast tv 2000 XP

It means exactly what it said, that its has not been designed for Windows XP.
It may - or may not - work OK, but has not been officially tested as being compatable with Windows XP.

Make sure nothing else is running and reduce your startup processes to bare minimum and try.

251613 2004-07-28 09:31:00 Nah it should still work if it says NOT designed for XP. I use the Deluxe Version no prob at all. What red button?? Are you using the program thats on the Leadtek site?? Winfast Wizard?? The only red button in this is the record button, so you can record to hdd then burn whatever to CD/DVD. Most of my drivers say that same message. The device works fine. 251615 2004-07-28 09:55:00 I have the same Winfast and the nearly the same system as you have and it works perfect for me.

Uninstall, then close as many running processes as possible (without crashing the OS of course) - a la Godfather's advice - then reinstall. Should be OK.

251616 2004-07-28 10:01:00 Godfather - I wonder if some program installations get corrupted by anti-virus progs running in the background, perhaps with anti-spyware, printer drivers, etc. in the background? I always hit Ctrl+Alt+Del and close down the ones that cannot be seen on the taskbar (or is it called the system bar - bottom right of the screen). Is this correct? I know there is a danger of closing down too much and crashing the OS; a long time ago I found a couple of web sites that explained each bit seen on the Task Manager/Running Processes/Image Name - so I am careful not to close ones that are vital.
