251587 2004-07-11 12:00:00 Hello,

I have a D-Link DWL G520.

It works fine, I took it out of another computer - but in my current computer it has problems:

After a fresh install of Windows, I, as the manual says, installed the drivers. I then installed the actual card, and the software configuration cannot find the card.

The taskbar item says:

D-Link AirPlus
No Card Found

I did a search in google and found others with the problem - and tried everything they suggested:

1) Stopping the Windows Zero Config service, and restarting it.
2) Reinstalling the card
3) Removing all the devices (ie. protocols, services, clients) in the Network Properties, and reinstalling them.
4) Swapping PCI Slots.

... and nothing works.

Before the program closes, you can make out a status bar that says "Driver not Load" ...

Anyone have any experience, ideas?

I run Windows XP Pro OEM

251588 2004-07-12 02:13:00 I am no expert on these things but am wondering the following:

1. What was the version of Windows on the computer that the modem came out of?

2. Try removing the modem, including uninstalling all the software, etc, reboot then put the modem back in and see if Windows can detect it for itself. Hopefully it will then ask for the drivers and install them for you.

3. Are you sure you haven't damaged it when you removed it from the other computer? Can you try it in another machine?

As I said, I am no expert so if the above is a load of hogwash then hopefully someone else will be able to offer some better help.

251589 2004-07-12 07:01:00 Thanks Susan. It was previously in a Server 2003 machine - and I just managed to fix it by turning off the Windows Config and reinstalling old drivers. Growly (6)
