| 251508 | 2004-07-11 05:36:00 | Hi, I'm running Windows XP and recently I have been getting error messages saying that I am low on windows virtual memory and because of this the program has to close. I don't know much about this. On start up I have 6 programs starting...AVG, Sygate, Script Sentry, Spy Sweeper, Spyware Guard and Tea Timer. I use mozilla as my browser and at the time of the messages I was running trillian.....both of these programs I start manually. Do I have too many programs running? Can someone please tell me how I get around this? Or can I change my performance settings somewhere and if so how? Thank you. |

| 251512 | 2004-07-11 06:53:00 | I would suggest disabling all the programs in the Startup except for AVG and Sygate and see if the problem goes away. You can run all those extra programs manually when required. |

| 251515 | 2004-07-12 03:11:00 | Like Elephant says, it is reporting lack of disk space to copy memory contents to and the most likely reason is that your disk is running short of space . The problem is not that you are running too many programs as XP can manage this very well . Let's know about your disk usage (dbl clicking the My Computer icon will tell you this) . |

| 251516 | 2004-07-12 23:25:00 | My hard drive is not full it has 58% free. It is a partitioned drive with (14.6gb) 6.11gb used and 8.55gb free. Spoke too soon have got the error messages coming up again.. ..This is what the last message read when I opened up Nero. Microsoft Visual CH Runtime library. Runtime Error: Program: C:/Program files/Ahead/Nero/nero.exe. Abnormal program termination. So then I clicked on ok and it said Nero Express: nero.exe. Application error. The instruction at "Ox77e7a67a" referenced memory at "OxOlb2b65c" The memory could not be written. Click on ok terminate. This has happened twice this morning with 2 different programs. |

| 251517 | 2004-07-13 02:57:00 | It sounds like something has become corrupted. It could be that there is something amiss with your c: drive (might also explain why the paging system is complaining). It would be a good idea to check the disk file system. Get yourself to a command prompt (START/Run and where it says "Open" type cmd and click Go). When the comd window appears, type in chkdsk c: and hit enter. Report back what messages you get from this (don't worry that it reports that it can't fix errors because /F is missing). | linw (53) | ||
