2004-07-11 04:25:00 | There's a screensaver out that essentially is a collage of actual scenery as seen from an airliner window. Lasts about an hour or so to see the full range of sequences, and for the travel / aviation buffs is quite neat. Download from Screensaver (opsis.m4internet.com) However, I have a problem. I'm running XP Home, heaps of memory etc, no conflicts I can see. Settings as recommended. On unzipping, the Control Panel > Display > Screen Saver window opens. The pull down menu lists Holding Patern as available, and clicking on that brings it up on the window. If I click "Preview", the sequence will run, full screen until I escape out of it. Where the problem lies is that on exiting out of the Screen Saver window itself, the selection defaults to "none"and the program just doesn't operate. Other screensavers can be selected without problem or the selection defaulting to "none". Can anyone suggest what I may be doing wrong and how to rectify it? I've tried emailing the author but without any response so far.

2004-07-12 01:08:00 | Thanks Paul - I agree. But! How can I get it to run automatically as do other screensavers? Thanks John - I haven't a problem unzipping and installing, I just can't get it to run'except in preview mode. Help

2004-07-12 01:28:00 | Installs and runs automatically on my XP setup. Suggests its something to do with your setup more than the program? It does get confused with my dual screen setup though, it shows an entirely different sequence on each screen. Can be snow on one and desert on the other ...

Clicked on the resultant .exe and did the installation. I previewed this a couple of times then re-read your original post. I just left the installion to do its' own thing by the way so it was installed to the default location. I then set my auto power off the Monitor to two hours and the screen saver start to one minute. Sat there for one minute and the Holding pattern saver started as expected. I didn't have to copy files to anywhere else. Running WinXP Pro, AMD3200+, 1 Gig DDR400 RAM and a 5700FX AGP card. I have no idea why your installation won't run as expected but I thought I would let you know it works for me. I have let it run automatically a couple more times and each time it did its' thing. |

2004-07-12 05:41:00 | I read an apology from the author somewhere about that, with her reassurances it'll be ironed out, and it is not a bug. For what that's worth. Now if I can just get the damn thing to behave ....
