| 251474 | 2004-07-11 02:49:00 | Any help gratefully received: have just got a new Dell running XP with an onboard Radeon 9800 Pro 128Mb graphics card. Attached my old TVM TCO7P 19" monitor to its second output, via an adapter that turns it from some sort of new video out into the older type of connector. Yes I've turned the brightness & contrast up to max, and tried lots of settings on it... I think. But the TVM stays resolutely grey and dim compared to the new one. XP thinks the monitor is an AlphaScan 811. I eventually found a driver for TVM called a TCO7S, not TCO7P... but don't know how to get XP to use this, even it is right. Any tips? | RLAbbott (3173) | ||

Could be that the monitor is just really old. Got the latest Ati Catalyst 4.7 drivers for the card? You should be able to adjust the colour profiles and increase the gamma, brightness in the 'Color' tab. Failing that, have you got any Adobe software installed like Photoshop Elements etc? You could try the Adobe Gamma program in the control panel. |
