251339 2004-07-10 07:58:00 Hello guys,

I have a problem with my dvd drive when it is playing a movie. The sound is annoyingly crackly. I've tried both winDVD and powerDVD but it's the same problem. The video is smooth and fine. Where could the problem lie? I use onboard sound but its a decent motherboard. I've also tried different speakers just incase it was something as simple as that.
If it helps I have
*Win2000
*Samsung SD-616Q DVD
*Gigabyte K7 Triton nforce2 mobo
*512mb ram

Any suggestions appreciated,
Thank you!

251340 2004-07-10 08:25:00 It may not be the DVD drive. It may be your onboard sound. Regardless whether it's a good mobo or not, it still uses up vital RAM, so that may be your problem. Have you tried a PCI or USB sound card? Megaman (344)
