251416 2004-07-10 23:48:00 Just upgraded from IE5 to IE6 on my stand alone home PC
Now I cant access Internet Options from the toolbar - error message coming up is : "This operation has been cancelled due to restrictions in effect on this computer. Please consult your systems administrator"

How do I gain back control of this monster!

First, do you have Spybot Search and Destroy or FreshUI on your computer? There are others, but these programs can prevent people getting in to internet options. Try from the control panel.

Second, this may sound stupid but are you logged on as an administrator?

251418 2004-07-11 00:02:00 Hi Megaman

Why didn't I think of the Control Panel?!?!?!?

I too have been locked out of my IE options ever since I installed a second HDD and tried to move My Doc's to that drive. Online help was suggesting a system restore to fix the admin user account - but I wasn't sure of the unintended consequences so I waited to see what popped up here on f1. Thanks for the suggestion Megaman.
