252102 2004-07-13 15:09:00 Hi Gurus,
Ive created extra subject folders in My Outlook Express list by category.

Now Ive finished with the mail for some subjects but want to keep them 'on file' for possible future reference. But I cant seem to find a way to move them out of Outlook Express to say an archival or zip folder.
Any suggestions please?

252103 2004-07-13 15:44:00 Umm.. not sure i understand what you mean but tried opening the mail and click "file, save as" it should then save it to your desktop in whatever format you select? Hawk (4365)
252104 2004-07-13 22:07:00 You can save and move the actual database for any folder in Outlook Express, but you will need to shift it back to its origional position if you wish to view the emails again, the location in XP Pro is
C:\Documents and Settings\Your Username\Local Settings\Application Data\Identities\{E4C4A69E-D882-48F0-97A3-076848F9DD4E}\Microsoft\Outlook Express
note: the string inside the {} will be different for you. This could also be performed in other OS's but you need to find the location where the databases are stored.

252105 2004-07-13 23:20:00 You can use DBXtract to extract all the emails from a selected .dbx file and save them to your hard drive in .eml format. Emails will then open with Outlook Express when you wish to view them.

Do a search on Google for DBXtract - it used to be free but I see that it now costs $5 to buy but you will probably be able to find older versions that are still free.

252107 2004-07-15 14:23:00 Rob,
tried the others' ideas with no luck. With your idea I find I cant get to identities thru local setting/app data. All it brings up is Microsoft and Iexplorer Ive tried several other routes but cant find identities.
What am I doing wrong/
