| 251995 | 2004-07-13 04:12:00 | Hi team. Over the holidays I've been tracking down our Recovery CDs. Currently we have a Viewsonic wizard, Intel CD and Windows XP Home edition + SP1 CD. But I'm looking for the Office XP CDs as we need to install Office XP SP3. The computer has been through 3 companies. Cyclone (The manufacturer), CommArc Consulting and Me. Cyclone sent me the XP CD, and say to contact CommArc for the Office CD. CommArc say they don't actually sell software, and only buy from Cyclone on behalf of the customer. Fair enough, as we bought the computer from them, but who would have the Office CDs? Or is it time to get Open Office? The family won't warm to that idea... Thanks. MM |

If it was "bundled" OEM with your PC (and that's possible), you would have/should have received the full set of install disks for it. Who installed it? |

I know, but this was pre-installed > If it was "bundled" OEM with your PC (and that's > possible), you would have/should have received the > full set of install disks for it . I know . That's why I'm chasing the CDs > Who installed it? That's the problem . Cyclone say CommArc did, CommArc say Cyclone did . I don't care who did, I just want the CDs . MM :) |

Your contract is with them and it is up to them to sort it out . Of course if you were not the end user, but "on-sold" it yourself, then you are responsible . Good luck . Cheers Billy 8-{) |

| 252001 | 2004-07-13 08:40:00 | I take it you have replaced the motherboard? Time to buy a new OS. Unless the PC Company didnt lock there recovery cd's into the hardware, you may be lucky. The joys of brand name computers. |

| 252002 | 2004-07-13 11:26:00 | You can use the recovery CD to reinstall XP on your replaced hardware, the only difference between now and when you first fired up your PC Co computer is that it will ask you to activate Windows with the product key on your left side panel and that should go fine. You will also need to have your driver cd's/floppies handy as the PC Co Recovery disks are just the Windows install. |

| 252003 | 2004-07-13 12:01:00 | Quick question on this, Should you get a CD or is it okay to have it installed on a HDD?? The reason i ask is my sister bought a computer, & the recovery info is on a D Drive, not on CD. Main concern is, what happens if everything needs a total format, clean out includng the D Drive?? Thanks |

You just need something to write to the BIOS code and change the manufacturer to THEPCCOMPANY and it will work on any motherboard. |
