| 251758 | 2004-07-12 09:06:00 | I have recently upgraded from Win ME to XP professional SP1. using Outlook 2002 On the previous ME system with Outlook 2002 I was able to connect to send/receive by simply clicking send/receive, Outlook then completed the job and hung up the modem. With XP i find that I can connect to the Internet using IE6 with one click and the modem connects automatically, and then advises me that the connection is still active when I close IE6. When using send/receive in Outlook I have to click on the Dial button. also when the job is completed MY ISP connection stays active, even though the Hang up when complete option in Outlook is selected. When I exit from Outlook the IE 6 disconnect box is shown, stating that my ISP connection is still active and do I want to disconnect. What I require is one click connections to both Outlook and IE6, with Hang up from Outlook when send/receive is complete. Any help would be appreciated. Regards Chris Bailey |

| 251761 | 2004-07-12 21:27:00 | Check these settings Tools/E-mail accounts View or change Existing,click Next Click on Change and near the bottom of the Accounts settings page click on "More Settings" Click on Connection Tab Make sure "Connect using my phone line" is selected and in the box below select you ISP connection. Click OK then Next and Finish Tools/Options Click Mail Setup Tab Select all boxes under dialup at the bottom. Click OK |

| 251762 | 2004-07-15 02:04:00 | Thanks Jim, The problem was in my dial up connection setup,I was requesting to manually insert a password, funny!! that this did not force IE6 to request a password, it went straight thru and automatically connected. thanks again.
