Does Farmers or Harvey Norman have a lowest price guarantee that beats other people's price by 10 or 15%

If I remember rightly, HN doesn't but Farmers (or was it someone else) recently introduced a 15% discount? Am I right?

Briscoes will beat the competitors price by 5% (quite often more).
Bunnings will beat the competitor by 10%

Harvey Norman are one of the most nogotiable electrical stores around. Their staff can do cost+(so much) discounts as opposed to most other places retail-(10 - 20 %) 		-=JM=- (16)
251768 2004-07-12 09:17:00 Hi - I was talking to Harvey Norman today about a purchase we are planning on making and they said they were prepared to match any deal from another company.

Noel Leeming have a 14 day promise. If you purchase something from them and then find in that 14 days someone has it advertised it cheaper they will match it. I know as this just happened to me this week.

Hi JM, can you clarify that information? What do you mean by "nogotiable" cost + discounts? Is that different from negotiable discounts. ? 		Bazza (407)

Yes, I've learnt that now after many time trying to demand a discount. I actually think they've raised it to 15% now, not sure though.

As I don't live near a Harvey Norman retailer, do you think it'll be wise for me to try neogoiate over the phone? 		~~~~~ s y ~~~~~ (2054)

I didn't really word that the best did I.

Harvey Norman staff have more power to offer discounts than staff at most other shops, going from what I've heard from people that have worked in the different stores. 		-=JM=- (16)

251775 2004-07-12 21:45:00 Is the discount realy that important? I am realy more concerned about warranty. Particularly on electrical goods.
In the past few months I have had several items pack up soon after purchase. In all cases they have been replaced without arguement. This is more important to me. Are the days of waiting for warranty repairs realy over.
Philishave razor from Briscoes. The battery wouldn't charge. Replaced.
Electric Kettle from Farmers. Replaced.
Computer monitor from DSE. Replaced
Faulty ram from Computer sales. Replaced.
Not long ago I would have had to wait weeks for them to send it back to the manufacturer for repair.
This sort of service is better than a discounted item that doesn't work and takes forever to be repaired.
Of course if you can get a discount and a guaranteed replacement service
That's even better.
