1366028 2014-01-24 10:14:00 I recently tried to load some FX software on my Computer and got the response that I had a newer version of this software than the version used in the FX software (2010).

Apart from getting the supplier to change his software is there any way I can partition off a copy of the 2010 version without screwing up my standard system or having to cancel auto-updates?

1366029 2014-01-24 22:24:00 are you sure it's not the .NET framework the error is referring to ?
You may have to get the .net version the software is looking for.
yes, you can have multiple versions of the net framework installed :)

Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 x86 Redistributable setup POP UP says:
"Setup has detected that this computer does not meet the requirements to install this software. The following issues must be resolved before you can install Microsoft C++ x86 Redistributable Setup software package"

Followed by"
A newer version of Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable has been detected on the machine"

Hi Speedy,

I'm running Windows7 in XP 32Bit mode. I have Net 4 on board and the software is a trade copier from 35PIP.com

1366035 2014-01-26 19:41:00 If you're using XP mode, it's treated as a separate OS. Even if net framework 4 is installed in Win7, XP mode wont see or use it. You have to install it again Speedy Gonzales (78)

I installed Framework NET 4 32 bit, but I still get exactly the same response. I then tried downloading a copy of Visual C++ Redistributable 2010 and was told I could not install it because there was a newer version installed (pretty much the same POPUP as when I tried to install the FX Software).

Any other thoughts?

PROBLEM SOLVED!

I deleted MS Visual C++ Redistributable (Actually found there were four copies listed, 3 from 2008 and one from 2010) then installed the software. It installed it's 'appropriate' copy, and because all of these are apparently backward compatable I have been assured that any future 'upgrade' will be OK.

Thanks very much for your help!
