Right on the button 2 years of TV recording was enough For the Barracuda 7200.12 1TB drive I had set up for swmbo. Must have been the programs!! Replaced it with a WD drive. Sounds like a good decision. I have used Seagate for years, seems like they may have opted for turnover rather than quality. shame really, this from a 5 year old computer with a Seagate that shows no sign of failing.	PPp (9511)
1365768	2014-01-25 04:27:00	I have approx. 10HDD's around in use and as archived backups and some quite old(10yr). From all of the HDD's I had, only one failed and it was relatively new. So the stats shown do absolutely not apply to my heap of hardware. I hope the never hardware is as reliable as the old was.	notechyet (4479)
1365769	2014-01-25 08:36:00	I used to be a seagate fan, then they had that firmware fault a few years ago and I switched to western digital and have stayed with them. seems like it was the right choice. Hitachi just aren't that common but I'll keep them in mind for any future drives. Thanks for the link.	dugimodo (138)
