1365729 2014-01-21 21:38:00 LogMeIn Free account will stop working in about 8 days. Does anyone know of any other GOOD alternative to LogMeIn Free? It has been great, have setup multiple LMI Free accounts to manage a few dozen computers remotely, but it will be free NO MORE shortly >_<

10 User licence is going to be US $229, will need about 2 of this for one site, so it will cost quite a bit.

I also use TeamViewer as well, but the free version is for non commercial use only. And their NZ$879 business plan only allow 1 PC! Premium with unlimited PCs cost NZ $1,759! Ouch.

Is there any other free or cheaper alternatives that are just as good?

If not, will have to fall back to VPN, then RDP or VNC to the PCs. It is not any where as easy and prior set up is needed to program in port forwarding on modem/router, so not much good if it has not already been installed in the first place.

1365730 2014-01-21 22:09:00 The LogMeIn price is introductory price for existing LMI Free users, so normal annual sub is double that! Geek4414 (12000)
1365731 2014-01-21 22:33:00 Crossloop used to be free, Have used it in the past Links Here (www.crossloop.com) - but even the Pro version is cheap enough, if you are charging your customers for work 1 or 2 calls would cover most if not all year ( depending on your charge out rate) :) wainuitech (129)
1365732 2014-01-21 22:48:00 Guess I'm falling back to using TeamViewer then for remote controlling my home PCs. I could port-forward RDP and stuff but can't be bothered.

It sucks coz I've bought LogMeIn Ignition on Android, it's probably the best remote control app there is for a Cellphone / Tablet.

1365733 2014-01-21 22:54:00 Just thought I'd give Crossloop a try again, :)

Hows this - Running Windows 7 ( host OS) , with a Virtual Machine - W7, crossloop within VM - connected to one of my File servers ( running XP) :)

We use ScreenConnect ourselves here at work and love it.

According to the FAQ ...

11. Q: What if I paid for the Ignition for iOS or Android app?
A: If you purchased the Ignition app, you will receive a special offer regarding an account-level subscription of LogMeIn Pro.

Looks good, must give it a spin. Searched for some reviews and mostly positive at a glance ...

Interesting comment here about being painful to install, is that true ? ...

When it works it is great. I have had the pro version for 3 years. The worst part is the install on the customers PC. It is painful compared to just about everyone else. I find it most useful for monitoring and working on customers machines that I have a always on connection. I do not do enough remote support to use the more expensive tools.
Crossloop also rarely reaches out to their pro users. The couple of times I have contacted support they were helpful.
Also I have used them to bill customers. Could be a great product when a little better support and a 1 click customer connect.

I haven't heard of it until now, the reviews on the Chrome App store looks very good. This is interesting too ...

Google is turning Chrome Remote Desktop into a packaged app (native app)
