1365268 2014-01-16 00:38:00 So I changed theme on Chrome (running in Win 8 mode), and suddenly after a reboot the taskbar and top right had corner are red... I panicked, changed the theme back to the default, and rebooted again, but it's still red.... Tried uninstalling with Revo then reinstalling, and it works fine UNTIL I sync it with my Google Account, where everything syncs back over INCLUDING the red bits! Desktop mode works fine but I really want to use the Win 8 mode! 5472 Note I'm using the normal version, latest update 32.0.1700.76 m NOT a beta version. Please help!

Thanks in advance.

1365269 2014-01-16 02:46:00 Change your theme.

Menu --> Settings --> Reset to default theme
If that doesn't work, try applying a different theme to see if that resolves it?

Nope applying a different theme just changes the top bar and new tab page background, not the bottom Chrome OS taskbar thing... And I did reset to the default theme! It's still red!

Thanks anyway.

Thanks anyway. The picture posted only shows the task bar as red, thats not Chrome.

Check this, right click the desktop/personalize / Select Colour, and change to suit.

Actually yes that is the Chrome taskbar, the last update gave the windows 8 (metro) mode of Chrome the same taskbar that Chrome OS itself has. My actually taskbar (Windows desktop) is grey. Thanks for the suggestion though.

I tried to replicate the problem on a VM with the same theme, BUT the description about what theme was used is to vague, Searched the themes but theres to many with "red" in them. :(

It was this one chrome.google.com . Now I've downloaded the Canary build of Chrome to try and the red is no longer there.... So weird. Maybe it's just a bug with the stable build? Anyway, I think I'll just use Canary for now and try the stable build again at a later date.

Thanks for all your help everyone!

1365277 2014-01-16 23:17:00 Nah Canary is a 100% independent build and keeps many of its settings independent. It does this because its bleeding edge and certain things would break if they were brought over and sync'd. Chilling_Silence (9)
