1346617 2013-06-23 00:07:00 I believe that dates should be a private matter. Apparently any usage is approved under our new rules. ;)

And what about the ones you eat ?

But, seriously I was brought up with the "english" date format of 1st of July 1999 or 01 07 99

But I have come to believe that the ISO standard of 1999 07 01 is better.

But it will take hundreds of years to re-write all the books and to get every one using it.

It is open to confusion with dates in the early months eg March, June July etc as they can or can be days eg 03 or months eg o3.

I use the English date format in correspondence. If I need to sort files in directories I use the American yymmdd in the naming of a file so that the files are in date order e.g. Telecom bills 130823.

We could, but we wouldn't, we have better taste than that and wouldn't impose the past on our fine posters.
