Thanks Speedy.

RegCleaner always picks up things that Revo hasn't quite finished with and you have always accepted that explanation.

Kind regards,

Lurking.

1366202 2014-01-31 06:45:00 I've never heard of regcleaner. Up to you, if you want to keep it then Speedy Gonzales (78)
1366203 2014-01-31 08:05:00 Pretty sure it's this one Speedy, a very old favourite from the past, I always used it up until Win7 then changed to CCleaner:

zqwerty, yes it's old and hopefully still gets rid of the those little bits that Revo misses, CCleaner does a lot of extra things that I don't want it to, but then it what needs to be ticked.

XTGold was another very old program we used to find passwords under Dos, good editing software, ZTree took over from it I think, but didn't bring the editor along with it.

1366205 2014-01-31 10:40:00 It's got some amazing features that I've never tried out, ie reverting motherboard back to some lo-level state or some-such and quite a few other novel features, one of my favourite programs which I haven't used for ages.

I used it on my Win98SE setup and it kept going for years, added a dual-boot of Win2K and used it on that as well, never had any problems and both OS's kept running fast with no sign of bloat or slo-down, I attribute that to Regcleaner usage.

I might try it out on Win7.

Lurking I notice that you are in Chch, so am I, maybe we could have a meetup sometime? I am 64 years old, so have wide general knowledge as well as some interest in computing etc.

I'm still hiding here too when I'm not out biking around, give it a couple more years then might look at moving back to sunny Nelson. I'm out on the edge of town in Halswell/Oaklands

1366207 2014-01-31 21:57:00 gary67, we Skyped just after you arrived here, I am in Waltham so not exactly close to Halswell, car is on last legs so I don't like to go cross town especially with the roads the way they are and have been for the last three years.

I have followed your progress at Mitre10 and also your journey back to see your parents in England with interest.
