Going to try using an original disc as opposed to one without ei.cfg; can't really afford to download 3GB...

Factory OS is Vista Home Basic (hence the upgrade :p) - it's a Compaq Presario CQ61

2. Install / update the chipset drivers. Sometimes strange things can happen with WU if the chipset drivers havent been installed / or updated

Drivers etc are here (h10025.www1.hp.com)
