252175 2004-07-14 11:18:00 Robo, I will look on my phone and see if thats possible...

and with this special deal for the deaf, I emailed the deaf association a while ago before my complaint to telecom to see if australia was any different to NZ when it comes to the Deaf, and i found that the australian deaf association is currently working with vodafone australia and another company, am not sure if it was telstra or opus as well as the Australian Human Rights Commission to work out the solution so deaf people can have access to communication that is found to be reasonable for them. I'm not quite sure what they are going after, they wouldnt tell me because the discussions were ongoing...

Also the only country (ies) i know of that have plans for the deaf, is america which doesnt surprise me with their major advances of technology compared to NZ, and a deaf friend in the Uk mentioned that vodafone UK is planning on some plans due for release January 2005....so maybe vodafone NZ will start the plans when they hear the deaf plans in Australia and the Uk...and the nz deaf get hold of the news and go after it here...

252176 2004-07-14 11:20:00 Godfather, I emailed the lady at the HRC who pursued my complaint and she said to type up my ideas and how it should be done, and to forward it on to her and if she finds it appropriate after some changes etc she will take it forward to the people at Telecom, so i guess i do have some work to be done and i'm quite happy to do it...so i guess this is the way to go... csinclair83 (200)
252177 2004-07-14 11:23:00 susan...

ahh i've forgotten audiologists...havent been to one for 7years now....
i beleive its up to them to deide whos eligable for the plan if theres one, but the issue is...who decides what the criteria is, because some would say this is the criteria and make it hard to get it...or some would say this is the criteria which would enable 90% of nz to get it....

i also know that getting them to accept the idea is the challenge first which i am going to do first, and yeah go from there :) but i still would love ideas how to decide eligability etc :)

252179 2004-07-14 22:35:00 i think it mainly comes down to cost, i know a couple of guys who do a lot of work at vodafone with txt plans and there is a down of money going into setting up these sort of things, so i guess they really have to have a market to be able to develop that kind of thing, they are a business after all :) Budda (2736)
252180 2004-07-15 02:58:00 CS. Further..... I had CT scans of both ears & physically there was no reason for the loss of hearing. It was put down to "bad connections" where the nerves from the brain attach to the ear. When you got nowhere, as I did, I suppose you also used "Strong Language", like Oh Dear, Tut tut & Goodness me, & the like. Doesn't help tho. What I need is to be Beamed up to the Enterprise & have "Bones" run his gadgetry over me & repair all the broken bits!!!. Dream on eh? PJ :D Poppa John (284)
