252366 2004-07-14 21:59:00 I'm just about to buy a new comp, spending about $4.5k for this kinda setup:

P4 3.2, 1024mb, Radeon 9800XT, 2x 80gb HD RAID 0, 19" CRT, DVD+/RW

Is this about right for this price, i've looked around (TLS, PBtech...) and most prices are similar...has anyone got any suggestions to improve this system as i'm wanting it to last for a couple years, hopefully.

I'm gunna get Farcry and BF Vietnam with it and have heard these games should run fine with this setup.

Any suggestions would be appreciated

252367 2004-07-14 22:09:00 Sounds good, but a little dear - have you tried dtconline.co.nz ? They are fairly reasonable as a rule R2x1 (4628)
252368 2004-07-14 22:14:00 Sorry, the link is HERE (dtconline.co.nz) for a roughly similar set-up

252369 2004-07-14 22:16:00 I must agree, it does sound a bit on the expensive side. You should be able to get a similar spec machine for less than $4k. somebody (208)
252370 2004-07-14 22:18:00 Cheers,

yeah i was just looking at that system...it is cheaper and looks pretty good...so is that a P4 3.4?

Sounds like a better deal than what i've been looking at...is the ATX case the funky looking ones that TLS use?

252371 2004-07-14 22:21:00 It's your money, so the case is your choice - $$ will decide as usual I guess

252374 2004-07-14 22:37:00 Yeah mela' I heard there are some great deals in Wanganui, but it's a bit south of the Bombays for jafas.. I wish you could have been with me a couple of days ago for some dealings with "appliance sellers" who couldn't even deal with appliances and then we had to resolve a dispute with a DVD machine. Unbelievable !
See you,
