| 252755 | 2004-07-16 05:32:00 | Greetings All AS I have a few dodgy sticks of Ram somewhere around (hopefully not binned) I was thinking of trying BADRAM (rick.vanrein.org) But I can't seem to find a step by step guide to using it, I think I have a vague idea, but as I haven't ever used memtest86 I am not to sure, and I would also like to know before I try it if someone here has actually used it. and if it comes as part of FEDORA core 2 Thanks Nigel |

| 252756 | 2004-07-16 05:40:00 | Basically you need to use MemTest86 to diagnose what RAM is bad, and then BADRAM to append to Lilo or Grub the location of Memory that is "Bad". Badram will then skip that portion of RAM. Boot your Fedora Installation CD, but when you get the: boot: prompt, type: memtest86 this will run memtest86 for you :-) Chill. |
