| 252517 | 2004-07-15 11:44:00 | Hi guys, I just got a new cellphone, a 3315. I used to have a 5110. The 5110 has a 3.6v Ni-MH battery and the 3315 has a 3.6v Li-ion battery. My mate has a 3310 with the same shape battery as the 3315 only its Ni-MH. Can my charger which was for the 5110 charge the Li-ion battery. It seemed to work fine charging the 3310... Cheers Willie_M |

Other chargers here will charge either with no problem. I would therefore conclude its charger specific, and related to the current attributes or the impedance presented by the charger more than the voltage, which appears similar. Exactly the same happens with my 3650 (LiOn), when using the 6110 charger |

| 252524 | 2004-07-16 02:18:00 | The tendency is for the batteries to be smart. So a clever little chip in the package tells the charger what to do. The way LiIon packs react to maltreatment is with "rapid venting", otherwise known as "explosion":D But you are probably OK. |
