| 252561 | 2004-07-15 12:52:00 | metla: Although one half of my brain is full of admiration for someone who can put 5 thread answers in 15 minutes (no matter how manic) the other half of my brain is still curious about whether the Wanganui feller has ever been to Gore ( or to the South Island for that matter) and why he says what he says? Nice wee bit of stirring, lad - but let's leave this to kiki - unless you've really got some evidence. Stick with telling the kids what crap their gaming stuff is, eh? As someone who knows nothing about this, I assume you are God. Tread on my patch & I know you are not.. (And having said this, I expect you'll have an irrepressible answer. That's the fun of PF1) |

That's the fun of PF1) Been all over NZ,not only visited but had extended stays all over,infact i spent the better part of a decade without returning to Wanganui for more then a weekend at a time,The South Island isn't any more special then anywhere else.(well,its more special then Auckland.......But a farmers red spot sale is more impressive then Auckland,.............HA) Nice enough if you like the cold i supose. Are all those down south so touchy?.....or is it just those in Gore and the National Front? |

| 252566 | 2004-07-15 13:17:00 | meh,i did bite my tongue. You should have seen the first reply I typed out. Crackers? something to be eaten with cheese. Isnt it amazing how when people assume things they tend to assume wrongly..... |

| 252567 | 2004-07-15 13:36:00 | HoHo metla - ain't PF1 great for instant arguments/discussions. Glad to see I'm talking to a widely-travelled New Zealander who just happens to live in the North Island - as opposed to the many who've never ever been down south.. Sure it's chilly here right now, compared with what you softies are no doubt getting in Wanganui. Makes us tough & resourceful as we chop the wood to light the fires to get the computers fired up... No, we're not all touchy in the South. Depends on the mood- and what prompts us.. I don't come from Gore (read my details above) but dealt with Gore people through lotsa floods...so know they have guts. As for the National Front- you got the wrong place. Reckon you have to talk to the Chrichurch people about that. |

| 252568 | 2004-07-15 13:44:00 | Funnist thing i enconted,Being asked by Aucklanders where i was from,When i said Wanganui i would get a blank stare that would normally be followed up with "Wanganui aye?,that south auckland innit? | metla (154) | ||
| 252569 | 2004-07-15 13:57:00 | Wow - -just seen the Mods telling-off, after I posted my last reply to metla. So - I grovel if I offended anyone by defending a small South Island town, when I couldn't understand why it was being mentioned unfavourably. Having said that, I can understand that this might have become a problem thread....maybe..maybe.... So I hope this Mod will follow up by getting in early on those that become personally abusive, as I don't believe this was. It certainly wasn't intended that way - rather as late-night amusement. Once again. if I offended anyone, I am sorry. |

Anyhow, Stu, it's been pointed out that this is normal behaviour from Firefox, as it's most likely been shunted out of your memory. As for PressF1, I suggest you give up bothering to find out if it's really down, or if it's just hinting that something about your combination of software, hardware, and internet connection had a senior moment. :p |
