252789 2004-07-17 02:17:00 Windows XP A to Z (www.kellys-korner-xp.com) is what you are after. There is also a link to an MS KB artical on editing XP's boot.ini

252790 2004-07-18 07:29:00 I went on the link murray supplied,
my boot.ini looks like this
[boot loader]
timeout=10
default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(3)\window s
[operating systems]
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(2)\WINDOWS="Microsoft Windows XP Professional" /fastdetect
C:\="Microsoft Windows"

i want to delete the working link {window(default)} and fix the broken {Microsoft Windows XP Professional}
how do i do this.

252791 2004-07-18 09:53:00 How many discs and how many partitions on each (if more than one) do you have. Which partition is each os on e.g: win 98 on 3, xp on 2.

252792 2004-07-18 11:07:00 timeout=10
default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(3)\window s
[operating systems]
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition([b]3)\WINDOWS="Microsoft Windows XP Professional" /fastdetect
C:\="Microsoft Windows 98"

If the default actually works, then that will work too but give you a choice of either 98 or XP .
