2004-07-17 05:18:00 | That VGA cooler on p64 of this months magazine. Where can I get one of those? And anyone have any opinion on it? Thanks

2004-07-17 05:25:00 | Page 46 you mean? That cooler is a Zalman Silent Heatpipe heatsink. You can do a search of NZ retailers for Zalman products, or have a look at Quietpc's (www.quietpc.com) website, specifically this page (www.quietpc.com). You will need to get a product that is compatible with your Video Card model. Never used a graphic card cooler, or any other Zalman product, so I cannot comment on them. :)

2004-07-17 06:15:00 | I've been looking at this one (www.insanetek.com) with the fan as well for my 9800 pro. Should be good for overlclocking? Shaun, what card do you have your cooler on? And what overclock results can you get?

2004-07-17 07:41:00 | Mines running on a 9700 pro. I had to do something as stock fans had failed 4 times and the card was replaced under warranty. I have a temp probe as close to the GPU as I can get it without removing the shim and it never goes above 42 c with all the eye candy on. Thats with the optional fan on low. I dont overclock anything so I cant give any results on that but the link you gave seems to think its ok. All in all I'm rapt with it. The only issue I have is thats its bloody heavy. In the end I have mad a bracket to support the weight cos ripping the AGP slot out of my motherboard is not my idea of a good time.

2004-07-17 07:49:00 | Yeah they look a bit heavy. Would screwing it harder into the case work? Does a Temp probe come with the cooler? Or do you have to buy that separate? How do you monitor that temperature anyway?

2004-07-17 08:23:00 | Screwing it harder wouldnt help ast the weight is out in no where if you know what I mean. I ripped the side off grabbed the cam and heres mine (sal.neoburn.net) On a side note. Go the camera... The system was on and those fans are doing 1500 rpm :)

2004-07-17 09:39:00 | Looks pretty huge in there aye :) It only takes up one nearby PCI slot doesn't it? Is the side of the heatsink a safe distance from that northbridge HSF? I think I might get the newer blue one as its got ramsinks as well, even better for overclocking.

2004-07-19 06:48:00 | Yeah plenty of room for my northbridge. Gigabyte 7N-400 pro 2 | Shaun Minfie (2961) | |
