| 252925 | 2004-07-17 02:27:00 | Hi My printer (HP Deskjet 656c) has recently developed a dislike for printing images. Prints text fine but the best you can get out of an image is a shadowy image that at best looks like one of those 'join the dots' pictures. Sometimes it won't print anything. I'm printing in normal mode ... not draft so should work. Any ideas what the problem may be? If not, I'll reload the driver tomorrow. No biggie. |

| 252929 | 2004-07-18 10:34:00 | And thanks for those diagnostic instructions Frank. Ran them both ... don't know what all the number/letter combinations meant but both reports said the status was 'OK'. Perhaps I'll keep plugging away before I take the easy way out and reload the driver. | oggy (1250) | ||
| 252930 | 2004-07-18 10:42:00 | Hi Oggy I don't think this is a driver problem - you can test this by doing a test page from your desktop (what OS?) - if you can print a test page then it won't be a driver problem. Have you checked your printer cable is ok? BTW this printer did not get a good review here (www.zdnetindia.com) - the article mentioned patchy print (you will need to do a search for 656c) but it doesn't offer a solution HP Tech support for deskjet printer problems can be found here (h10025.www1.hp.com) , drivers for the 656C can be found here (h10025.www1.hp.com) , other troubleshooting tips for the 656C can be found here (h10025.www1.hp.com) and the manual (if needed) can be found here (h10025.www1.hp.com) HTH |
