Sorry Itzhak, it looks like all the available advice has been given, unless somebody comes up with a new idea. Obvoiusly you have not been using the monitor for some time, so provided it has been left unplugged, I'd either try watou's suggestion again, Google the problem to find other Forums that might have the answer or contact the service agent for your model of monitor, or all three.

There are two other options I can suggest, but they would only be of use to NZ residents so tell us where you live.

Cheers

253235 2006-03-04 23:34:00 I did everything and nothing works. I enjoyed it just one week before it went fried (you know). I'm an experienced hardware and software user, so I knew I had to find the answers in internet first. But, as you can see... I come from the far Chile, and I'm still looking for an answer to this great mistery. If one day I fix it, I will post all over the internet the way to solve it, because there is not too much info about this.

Thanks to everybody
(and forgive my gramma, I don't know English :) )

253236 2006-03-05 00:02:00 Your English is fine, no problems there!

Contact This NZ Company (http://www.monitor.co.nz) by email and ask them if they know of the problem. If anybody can help you, they can. Provide the same model details etc as you have on this forum, and provide a link to this thread. Supplying this:

pressf1.pcworld.co.nz

will be good enough.

Cheers

253238 2006-05-29 03:10:00 I just fixed mine (Dell D1025TM). I went to the menu (which was all
gibberish), selected the lower-right box (since that's the only one I could
use), hit the select/enter type button (in between the brightness/contrast
buttons). Then I think I hit the left contrast control button (just on the
right side of the enter/select button). That let me access the menus
again...

Then I held the reset button for a few seconds and the monitor flashed a few
times, then the menu was in english again.

Thank you. Your solution worked for me. Now I think I will get it set right and then lock it myself so nobody else can screw it up again.

253239 2006-06-29 05:45:00 Ok.

I had this problem with this monitor and I just fixed it. It was very fuzzy and the menu was messed up - it would only let me into the bottom-right menu box. All options in this menu were locked (a small green key symbol would come up).

This is what I did. I hope it works for you lot:

I went into the only menu (bottom-right) selection. When the key icon is selected I decided to try pressing multiple buttons on the monitor at once (dunno why). I simultaneously pressed the five main buttons (brightness +-, menu, and contrast +-) and it unlocked! I then pressed the reset button (the small intented one to the left on the front) and it cleared the fuzzyness!

And here's me thinkings "yes! I get to buy that 20" LCD now". Oh well

Good luck,
Ste

This worked! Excellent job! This monitor, which I bought for five bucks, now works pimp! Thanks.
