| 253122 | 2004-07-17 23:19:00 | As we are all very aware now Spyware/Malware has become a huge problem with huge implications to your security and the stability of your system. There are some fantastic products about (Adaware, Spybot, Pestpatrol, Spywareblaster) but there are also heaps of very suspect products and websites that are as bad as the problem they are supposedly solving. This guy has gone to a lot of trouble to provide info about all the products and websites you should avoid when searching/applying a solution to the criminal problem of Spyware. www.spywarewarrior.com A well informed public is the most important thing when it comes to Spyware/Malware and this site makes it much easier to get it right in the "War on Spyware". |

| 253124 | 2004-07-18 00:03:00 | Nice link John :) I found it interesting the comment about the google ads which run down the side of your search hits are often for these dodgy anti-spyware programs. I just entered in "spyware" into google, and most of the sponsored ads were on that list. I can see how easy it would be for an inexperienced person to follow one of those links, and end up with bigger problems. It was good to see that Lavasoft Adware and Spybot S & D were up in the top 5 returned hits tho. :) |

While alexa does tell you in their privacy policy what information they collect, they do seem to collect a heap of data about your browsing habits and state they slant your searches to favour the Amazon website. :illogical Sounds like spyware to me ... | Jen (38) | ||
