2004-07-17 11:08:00 | For some reason I am getting, each time I start the computer, the DialUp Connection window appearing on the desktop for the 'connect" button to begin etc.. Just recent happening but can not trace why. Silly and small problem but would like to turn it off somehow - can someone please help with some settings. Thanks. | tuktuk (4638) | |

You want it on "Never dial a connection" then also check in Internet Options-Advanced-Scroll to Security uncheck check for publishers revocation certificate se if that fixes it this is for xp hth |

2004-07-17 12:02:00 | Hi tuktuk Are you sure its not connected to a program that is in startup? Reason I'm asking this, is that I have a Astrology program and everytime i click on the program to open it, the Dialup Window appears as well. The reason this program gets it to do that is because to find the latitude and longitude of a town or country it will connect to another Astrology site on the net which will insert that information into the data input area of my astrology program. May be one of your programs works along the same line. Regards, marg

2004-07-18 10:34:00 | I found that sometimes Norton Anti Virus decides it wants to check at startup. If you are happy its not a virus or similar trying to connect, then let it connect. A couple of times of doing that it goes away. Never did figure out why. Ferg

2004-07-23 10:45:00 | Thanks for suggestion - also those from johnboy....Pulling Hair Out and Ferq........although none of the suggestions you made worked.....a couple of days later the problem disappeared so one of you did it by remote control? Have no idea why but fingers crossed it has "gone away". Thanks all. | tuktuk (4638) | |
