252966 2004-07-17 05:49:00 Hi

I bought a wireless mouse which has a reciever that plugs into usb.

It does not have to be in Line_of_ Sight with the mouse so they are not in a line facing each other.

I wanted to try how far can the mouse be and still works, so i took the mouse to different places and when one place didn't work I brought the mouse back.

But the thing is it won't work any more after i brought it back, why? Is it because i brought it out of the reciever's range? I tried restarting the computer and it still would't work.

Help please.

cheers

The Microsoft wireless optical mouse has a resynchronisation function - check your documentation.

252969 2004-07-17 06:33:00 The mouse make is "Targus".

Don't think the battery has run out because it has just been purchsed, when i turn the mouse upside down there is red light flashing on the bottom of the mouse.

252970 2004-07-17 06:37:00 Try using the 'connect' button on the mouse and reciever to make the reciever pick up the mouse again. That kind of thing happens with my wireless keyboard and mouse and resyncing them makes it work again.

Hope this helps.

252971 2004-07-17 23:48:00 My MS wireless mouse flashes when the battery is low. When it is full, the light is either full on or dull, but not flashing.

252973 2004-07-18 02:13:00 If the Targus mouse is similar to the Gigabyte wireless mouse that I have, the light is flashing on the Targus wireless mouse because it has not made a connection to the receiver in the usb slot - in this case it has nothing to do with the battery levels.

The others are right - follow the instructions that came with your mouse to re-establish a connection. In the case of the Gigabyte mouse that is accomplished by pressing a button on the usb receiver. When I do that on the Gigabyte mouse and it re-establishes a connection, the light goes into a steady state.

252974 2004-07-18 02:15:00 I should have said that it also flickers if you pick it up and turn it over to look at it! If the connection is still present and you turn it over again and replace it on a flat surface the light goes back into a steady state.
