253728 2004-07-20 04:27:00 Hello

Hmm.not sure what action i should do really

My friend downloaded some kinda software online and uploaded to his cellphone

He then use his wap from his fone and connected to a website where he inputted my cellphone number
After that my pin number password was displayed
The next screen showed the entire contact list on my fone

He then texted a person from my contact list

When i looked at my fone in the sent item folder.I saw the message. What he wrote and who it was to was also displayed

I've called vodafone and they just said there's nothing we can do

I was wondering is there some sort of protection software for cellphones?

253730 2004-07-20 05:11:00 With all due respect, I find this very hard to believe. After all, your contact list is stored on your handset or your SIM, so it is highly unlikely that someone could access your contact list from another handset.

What is the make, model and OS of the two handsets?

253731 2004-07-20 05:24:00 What I find harder to believe is that it would show up in your outbox / sent messages. Vodafone does not update this, and it is, once again, a SIM card function.

Are you sure he didn't had your phone when you weren't looking?

253733 2004-07-20 07:36:00 He was next to me when he did it.He was using his sim card alcatel phone to access some site which then ask for the number. After typing my number. My pin password appeared. He was then able to see every contact from my sim.
He told me he texted a person called lisa and told me to look at my fone and see if the name lisa appeared. It did.It was in my sent folder.

Vodafone said we don't support this kind of software and if he manages to log into your sim then we assume it is u.I asked them to take further action but they say there is nothing we can do

253734 2004-07-20 07:38:00 Mine is a nokia 3100 not sure the model buts its an alcatel phone

he used his sim card to access my contact in my sim.
I thought its against the terms and condition of vodafone but they just sat back and didn't really care!
